Working with others.

FEDERATION:
Since September 2007 Cornhill First School and Norham St Ceolwulf's C E Controlled First School  have been working together as a Federation.

Mrs Grainger is Head Teacher of both schools and spends half of the week in each school. Each school has it’s own Governing Body.

Both schools have recently been inspected by OFSTED. Click here to read our report.

The Schools work together and plan exciting activities for children and staff.

KS1 children from both Schools had a Healthy School day with Roger.

The two schools have also shared P.E. sessions at Cornhill School.

A Christmas show presented by the Gibber Theatre Company was enjoyed by the children from both schools.

NORTH NORTHUMBERLAND LEARNING WEB
Ten small rural schools in the area work together under the title of North Northumberland Learning Web.  Staff and children benefit from this larger group.

Recent activities for children have included a launch day, with all 280 children form the ten schools working together on a variety of activities: maypole dancing, clock cricket, flag designing, art work, construction, a treasure hunt and games with a parachute.

Staff have joined together for Child Protection Training and First Aid Training.  Head Teachers from the ten schools meet regularly and provide professional support for each other.

SCHOOL SPORTS PARTNERSHIP
All schools in Northumberland are part of the partnership.

Teachers have received extensive training and many sporting activities have been planned for children.

These activities have included: cricket tournaments, beach football, gymnastics coaching, football coaching, dance, athletics in after school club and mini rugby.

NORTHUMBERLAND WILDLIFE TRUST
The school has built up a very successful relationship with the Wildlife Trust Officer, Anthony.  He first met the staff and children on a visit to Druridge Bay Country Park and has since been a regular visitor to school.

Anthony has helped with bulb planting and bird box making and is involved in the maintenance of the wildlife garden.

With Anthony's help school is planning to 'adopt' a beach.  More details to follow.
